New Year's Eve

Hello all! We finally have arrived in Nepal! It was quite a long journey, about 18 hours in the air and about 36 total travel hours. Kathmandu is a very busy and exciting place. I already love how open and friendly the Nepali people are and exploring the city today was amazing. Lots of new places and faces and so happy to be exploring a new region of the world.

December 30, 2012

We have successfully landed in Bahrain! After rushing through the Washington terminal we were able to board the plane for a 12 hour ride to Kuwait and then a quick flight to Bahrain. We landed here at about 9pm and will be taking off for Kathmandu at 4:40am. It will be an exciting New Year's Eve since it will be our first full day in Nepal.

The adventure begins...

Today is my debut in the blog world. I am currently sitting in the Syracuse airport awaiting our plane that will bring us to Washington DC to Bahrain and finally to Kathmandu, Nepal landing on New Year's Eve. My 10 days home went by pretty fast, but the days were filled with many friends and family and lots of skiing. I'm sad to be cutting my ski season short, especially when leaving fresh powder, but I'm looking forward to the exciting journey ahead of me. I hope to keep this blog updated frequently, with some pictures and thoughts on my journey, and I hope to stay in touch with everyone as much as possible. My email is cccald11@stlawu.edu which will be the easiest way to contact me.

Lots of love to all. See you in the summer.
