Booking it to Bangkok

Well I wouldn't exactly say that we booked it here...we were up at ready at our hotel at 6am this morning in order to catch our "6:30" bus. At around 6:40 we were picked up and brought to the "bus station" in Siem Reap which is really just a random curb outside a travel agency. We waited there until 8:30, when finally we boarded our bus and made our way towards Bangkok. We got to the Cambodia/Thailand border around 11, and waited so long in the hot weather to make it through customs. It wasn't until around 2pm that we were in a van and once again moving towards Bangkok. We finally arrived in the city around 7pm, about 5 hours later than we expected. After almost an hour long taxi ride (he got lost, but was very funny and told Tammy she looked like Lady Gaga) we pulled up to our hostel. The place we are staying is the nicest hostel I've stayed in and is in walking distance of anything you'd need. Our plan is to spend the day Saturday in Bangkok to celebrate Songkran and then take a night bus down south to Krabi. Bus tickets are hard to get this time of year so will see what happens!

I've added some photos of the Jasmine Garden Villa, the hotel we stayed at in Siem Reap. The staff was extremely friendly and generous. We were greeted with a "good morning" no matter what time of day it was and received a cold washcloth to help cool off after being out in the hot sun all day. Vacation is amazing!
