Today was my first full day in Chiang Mai. I got to meet up with 7 other SLU students as well as 8 other students from around the US and one from the Gambia. There are some other people from different countries as well but the 17 of us will be taking classes together this semester. We had a small orientation session in the dorm before heading out for a tour of the city. We went to a few different markets and tired lots of new food. At the Sunday market we visited a temple and then went and got a Thai massage. There will be many more massages to come. It was definitely more aggressive than any massage I've gotten before, but my muscles have never felt so rejuvenated before. It was amazing. We had dinner out as restaurant and then made our way back to Payap.
